July 27th through July 30th

George teamed up with Yahoo.com at the 21st National Sports Collectors Convention in Anaheim, CA to kick off online auctions of George Vlosich's one-of-a-kind art work .

His incredible art work was displayed at this national event. For the very first time, George Vlosich's work featuring Cal Ripken Jr. was displayed.

Three pieces of art work were auctioned on Yahoo's Charity Auction site with proceeds going to the charity. The auction's time spand coinsided with the 21st National Sports Collectors Convention.

Pieces that were auctioned:
  • The original Etch-A-Sketch signed by Cal Ripken Jr. and George Vlosich . This is the first piece of George's vast collection of autographed etches that he has chosen to part with.
  • A 16x20 customed-framed, signed print of this art work, 1 of 88 produced, will also be auctioned.
  • The last auctioned item was a custom-framed, 2-card set of George's Topps '98 Cal Ripken baseball card. The front of one card shows the Cal Ripken etch and is signed by Cal Ripken. The other card in the set shows the back, featuring the artist, George Vlosich, and is also signed. This unique piece is only 1 of 8 that will ever be created as such.


July 14th: Special White House Visit.
After meeting President Clinton and Vice-president Al Gore, on separate occasions, George Vlosich was invited to the White House for a personal tour. George presented prints of his etching of a portrait of president and vice-president to the White House on July 14th. His White House visit was filmed by ABC news correspondents and covered by the Associated Press.



June, 2000: Ripley's Believe It or Not !
George Vlosich appeared on Ripley's Believe It or Not! George recently demonstrated his etching expertise at Ripley's Believe IT or Not in Atlantic City, NJ. Stay tuned for a follow up appearance in Atlantic City sometime in August, 2000.



Summer 2000: Camp Cheerful, Cleveland Ohio
Giving his time to charity is nothing new to George. He was only 14 when he donated 3 originals to Akron Children's Hospital called. The individual pieces in the set "When You Wish Upon Three Stars." Are signed by Sandy Alomar, Mark Price, and Bernie Kosar. The unique display still brings joy to kids today. George is currently giving his time to MDA at camp Cheerful where he is teaching kids to etch.
